Campus Inclusion Statement
We value selfhood. Our campus just wouldn't be the same without you; the authentic you.
No matter who you are, or what you want to be, you belong at the Bay.
Campus climate is defined as the behaviors within a workplace or learning environment, ranging from subtle to cumulative to dramatic, that can influence whether an individual feels personally safe, listened to, valued, and treated fairly and with respect (Campus Climate Network Group, 2002).
The Campus Inclusion Statement (found in the Student and Employee Handbook) at Bodega Bay University strives to promote safe, affirming, and inclusive communities for all students, faculty, and staff to learn and work together in alignment with our University's mission. These communities are enriched by the presence of people of different abilities, ages, colors, creeds, cultures, races, ethnicity, family models, gender identities, gender expressions, health statuses, nationalities, political views, religious, spiritual, and philosophical beliefs, sexual orientations, socioeconomic statuses, educational backgrounds and veteran statuses. Everyone is welcome here as long as he or she has a willingness to learn in community.
We welcome, expect, and encourage the continued pursuit of knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to build a more inclusive world which celebrates diversity and works toward social justice in an increasingly global and diverse society. 10
Surround yourself with new faces. Gain a new perspective.
You belong at the Bay. Not in a box.
